Last week, our friends @makeadifference.kb saw the massive seaweed bloom washing marine debris onto our shoreline. So they reached out.
“Hey FILLABAG! It’s back to school...we think we can get our classmates together for a beach cleanup!”
LET’S DO IT!
Want to rally your classmates, friends or coworkers for a shoreline cleanup? Give us a shout!

We loved celebrating Earth Day with our pals from Coconut Grove Elementary School at one of our favorite spots!
Huge thanks to Ms. Arsham and Ms. Koski for keeping this impactful tradition alive, bringing together a new crew of eco-warriors year after year for 5+ years and counting. Can`t wait for next year!

Well, it took a minute from the day she reached out in 2024, but thanks to Jess`s perseverance and the support of Miami-Dade County Parks, Virginia Key`s #dogbeach finally has a FILLABAG station! This one is extra special; dedicated to Phife, Jess`s sweet dog, who loved his beach.
*
So, next time you swing through Hobie to walk your pup, launch from the @ridepadl_hobiesailclub, or just take in spectacular views of Biscayne Bay, grab a bucket and turn an ordinary walk into a meaningful cleanup.
*
Want to collaborate and activate a FILLABAG station in YOUR community? Do you have a favorite park, shoreline, or beach that needs a little love? Please give us a shout, let`s make it happen. Oh, and it`s free!

Meet Caroline — a dedicated Eagle Scout candidate who just activated two new FillABag stations in her hometown of Virginia Beach.
*
Caroline first discovered FillABag while visiting her grandmother in South Carolina. Inspired by the idea, and at her grandma`s suggestion, she decided to make it the focus of her Eagle Scout project. After researching, Caroline reached out, learned about our "DIY - Do It Yourself" program, got to work, brought FillABag to her community — and the impact is already being felt.
*
She placed her stations at 63rd Street and 77th Street, locations recommended by local lifeguards as high-traffic areas needing extra love. Now, anyone walking by can grab a bucket, collect a little trash, turn an ordinary walk into a meaningful cleanup, and help keep the shoreline beautiful.
*
Caroline credits her family, friends, scout troop, and the city for helping bring her vision to life. When she’s not making her community cleaner, she loves art, science and engineering, athletics, and spending time outdoors walking, running, or hiking.
*
Her message to all of us?
“Small actions truly add up. Anyone can make a difference, one bucket at a time.”
*
Join us in celebrating Caroline and the growing FillABag movement in Virginia Beach! #FillABag #CommunityHero #VirginiaBeach #EagleScoutProject #eaglescout #LeaveItBetter #beach #cleanup
Let`s continue to empower future eco warriors like Jack!! Please support FillABag during Give Miami Day 2025; donor link in bio is live today through November 20.
*
We were stoked to see a couple of pics his dad shared the day after Jack helped activate a #fillabag station last week. With new gloves in hand, and a newly found #finditfillit box, Jack decided to recruit some pals and turn an ordinary trip to the playground, into a meaningful cleanup!!
