ELLs as Agents of Change

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne, FL, USA

December 02,2021

Today we welcomed a group of stakeholders from Miami-Dade County Public Schools Bilingual and World Languages Department. We were stoked when they reached out and asked FillABag to lead one of a series of professional development sessions for teachers, where local ‘change makers’ facilitate a more global perspective to the urgency of a sustainability mindset in ELL (English Language Learner) students.

Participating in a beach clean-up empowered teachers to make real life sustainability connections which they could take back to their ELL classrooms. FillABag will continue to collaborate with them as the develop awareness campaigns and action plans to demonstrate that all actions – big and small can make an impact locally, nationally, and globally.
